Fis Film Project
The FIS Film Project is a wonderful example of a project that encourages creativity and imagination among children and their teachers in Irish primary schools.
Scriobh Leabhar
The Scríobh Leabhar Project aims to awaken children's interest in Irish books, by encouraging them to design and write their own books as Gaeilge. The Project is organised by Foras na Gaeilge, in co-operation with several Education Centres and organisations on the island of Ireland.
Active Week
Fire Brigade Visit
West Cork: Stories of the Revolution 1916 – 1923:
Leap National School won the overall prize for the best school entry in this project
which was organised by the Heritage Centre, Skibbereen. The pupils gathered
previously unrecorded stories about ordinary men and women who lived in this
parish at that time and learned about the extraordinary brave deeds they did at a
time when communication wasn’t near as sophisticated as nowadays.
Parishioners visited the school and shared their family stories with us. A sincere
“thank you” to the local people who visited us and helped with the project. This is
your prize too! The project is on display in the Heritage Centre, Skibbereen.
